NOCTURNAL RITES Issue Drummer's Post-Surgery Update

October 20, 2004

Swedish power metallers NOCTURNAL RITES have posted an update on the condition of drummer Owe Lingvall, who was involved in a serious accident at his summer house a couple of weeks ago, causing him to almost lose an eye.

Commented the band: "Owe's surgery went really well and he would like to express his grattitude to the fans for all their messages and concern. He is now back from the hospital, at home and recovering quite quickly (although it still hurs like hell, he says). We know lots of you really want to know exactly what happened. Well, Owe was taking out a tent from the ground at his summer house and apparently it got stuck for some reason. After some pulling he got it to come out of the ground, but unfortunately, one of the nails holding it down came out of the ground like a missile hitting his left eye. Massive bad luck...

"As soon as Owe is 100% up and running again, we will make plans for the new record and possible shows at the end of this year or early 2005. In the meantime, the rest of us will continue working on new material and be looking forward to the new video clip for 'Against the World' to be released."
